What AnchorDogs are
SYS-GRP AnchorDogs let you fasten SYS-GRP components (like BenchGrip pods), jigs, and fixtures into a doghole work surface from the top, without reaching underneath the bench.
They are designed for:
- Faster setup and repositioning
- Cleaner workflows on benches where underside access is blocked
- Repeatable placement when you are moving pods and fixtures often
Compatibility
Works with:
- Doghole work surfaces (20 mm and other doghole systems where the AnchorDog fits correctly)
- BenchGrip pods and other fixtures that use an M6 fastener
Fastener note:
- Use the supplied M6 fastener, or any M6 fastener that is the correct length for your fixture and work surface thickness.
How to use AnchorDogs
- Place the AnchorDog into the desired doghole.
- Position your fixture (BenchGrip pod, jig, or other accessory) over the hole.
- Insert the M6 fastener through your fixture and thread it into the AnchorDog.
- Tighten until you feel resistance. You are seating the AnchorDog and clamping the fixture to the surface.
- Verify stability with a light wiggle test before starting work.
Tips for best results
- Choose fastener length intentionally. Too short will not engage well, and too long can bottom out before clamping.
- Do not over-torque. Snug and stable is the goal.
- If you are using vacuum pods, tighten first, then plumb vacuum. This keeps alignment clean.
Quick troubleshooting
- Fixture feels loose: Try a longer M6 fastener, and confirm the AnchorDog is seated.
- Hard to thread: Back off and re-align; check for debris in the dog hole.
