Unfinished — see Finishing Options below

SYS‑SRF panels are CNC-cut from a high-density, moisture-resistant engineered wood composite. The material is pigmented through its full thickness — cuts, dogholes, and machined pockets retain the same color and finish as the face. It does not require surface sealing and is stable in variable humidity conditions typical of workshop and jobsite use.

SYS‑SRF panels ship unfinished and do not require a finish. For optional finishing guidance see SYS‑SRF Care and Finishing.

Minor vs. Metris — Size selection

The choice between Minor and Metris depends on which Systainer family you're running and how you want to use the overhang.

Both surfaces are 396 mm deep. The difference is width: Minor at 507 mm, Metris at 618 mm.

Minor on an M Series stack

Minor's 507 mm width overhangs the M Series Systainer top on both sides. That overhang is usable space — it's where the extrusion interfaces sit, and it's what opens up BenchGrip vertical workholding on a platform that would otherwise require a full bench. Minor on M Series is the most system-capable pairing in the line.

Minor stays within the SYS‑RB cart rolling envelope on an M Series stack. The combination moves through doorways and tight spaces without disassembly.

Minor on an L Series stack

Minor sits clean on an L Series top — the footprint is close to flush, with no overhang. This gives you a stable, surface-first platform for staging and layout. BenchGrip horizontal workholding is compatible. Extrusion interfaces are on the outer edges are not usable on an L Series Systainer.

Metris on an M Series stack

Metris extends the overhang on the M Series opening compatibility with the AnchorPod system — the footprint and overhang geometry support vacuum workholding pod placement on the same stack. This is the only SYS‑SRF configuration that supports AnchorPod.

Metris on an L Series stack

Metris overhangs the L Series top in the same way Minor overhangs the M — creating usable extrusion rail space along the outer edges and opening up BenchGrip in both horizontal and vertical orientations. Metris on L Series is the most surface area available in the line, and the pairing that gets full use of the extrusion interface geometry.

Workholding compatibility

BenchGrip

BenchGrip pods are compatible with SYS‑SRF in surface-friendly orientations. Horizontal workholding (pods bearing down on the surface) is compatible with all configurations. Vertical workholding (pods on the extrusion rail edges) is available on configurations with extrusion interfaces when the SYS‑SRF Extrusion Kit is installed.

AnchorPod

AnchorPod vacuum workholding is compatible with Metris on M Series only. This is the one pairing where the panel overhang geometry supports pod placement and vacuum routing on the stack. AnchorPod is not compatible with Minor in any configuration.

AnchorPod requires a separate vacuum source. See the SYS‑GRP AnchorPod collection for compatible pods and setup guides.
