SYS‑SRF Systainer Mounting — Setup Guide

How SYS‑SRF mounts to Systainer stacks, T‑Loc Surface Cleats for older stacks, off-stack use, and how to set up the extrusion interfaces to bring SYS‑PLT and SYS‑FIT into reach below the working surface.

Mounting on your Systainer stack

SYS‑SRF is compatible with both SYS-3 and T-LOC generations of Systainers. It seats on the top of a single Systainer or a stacked column.

The surface indexes to the Systainer top using the T-Loc latch points. No tools are required. Place the panel, align to the latch positions, and turn front latch to engage.

Systainer generation
Compatible
Notes
SYS-3 (current)
Yes
Direct fit
T-LOC (older)
Yes
Requires T-Loc Surface Cleats — see below

Older T-LOC Systainers

T-LOC Systainers have a different top geometry than current SYS-3 units. SYS‑SRF is compatible, but requires the optional T-Loc Surface Cleats to index correctly to the top.

T-Loc Surface Cleats are available separately from FORG3D. If you are unsure which Systainer generation you have, check the front of the right corner of your Systainer lid where the series will be embossed.

Off-stack use

SYS‑SRF can also be used off-stack as a standalone work surface on a bench, table, or the floor. In this context it functions as a portable, doghole-compatible surface for layout, staging, and light assembly — particularly useful when the underlying surface needs to be protected or when doghole-referenced clamping is required.

Extrusion interfaces

Core, Foundation, and Dock configurations include extrusion interfaces on the outer edges of the panel. These are machined counterbores designed to accept standard aluminum extrusion.

The extrusion and mounting hardware are not included with SYS‑SRF. They are part of the SYS‑SRF Extrusion Kit, sold separately. Extrusion can also be sourced by the user — standard 30-series (30 mm) aluminum extrusion is compatible.

To set up the extrusion interfaces:

  1. Install using the hardware supplied in the SYS‑SRF Extrusion Kit.
  1. Extrusion runs along the outer edges, within the overhang zone beyond the Systainer top.

Once installed, the extrusion provides mounting points for SYS-GRP vacuum workholding, SYS‑PLT plates and, through them, SYS‑FIT racks.

SYS‑PLT and SYS‑FIT below the working surface

With extrusion installed, SYS‑PLT plates attach to the extrusion rails. SYS‑FIT racks mount to the SYS‑PLT plates and position below the working surface — within the overhang zone at the panel edges — keeping the working surface clear.

This allows tool racks, clamp storage, and other SYS‑FIT accessories to travel with the stack without occupying the surface.
